Best of the West

2025 Competition is booked in for Thursday 13 to Saturday 15 Feb (briefing Wednesday 12 Feb).

Our legenday West Coast 'one base' comp has been held at Ahipara since 2018. Entries are restricted to 50 boats, and boats must launch off the beach at Ahipara. The Golf Club is our meeting place for briefing night and daily prizegiving nights for the three days of fishing, usually with a band for entertainment. We usually erect a marque to accommodate everyone, and with James Tattersall as our Master of Ceremonies there's always plenty of fun and banter. 

Cold hard cash prizes are on offer:

$10k for Heaviest Striped Marlin

$5k for 2nd heaviest Striped Marlin

$2k for 3rd heaviest Striped Marlin

$2k for Heaviest Blue/Black Marlin.
